Brett Jensen answers 7 Questions with Emmy about potato farming

  Published at

Every week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world.

Today I’m at Brett Jensen Farms in Idaho Falls learning all about potato harvest! I went out in a truck with Brett’s daughter, Rylee Jensen Geddes, and saw how potatoes go from the ground to our dinner plate.

I also asked Brett the following questions:

  • Potatoes don’t have seeds so what do you plant to grow potatoes?
  • What makes Idaho-grown potatoes different from potatoes grown in other places?
  • What causes some potatoes to have different colors like red, blue or purple?
  • What do potato farmers do during the winter?
  • How should you store potatoes at home and how long can you store them?
  • What’s your favorite way to have a potato?
  • What is a lesson you’ve learned while potato farming?

Check out my entire experience with Brett and Rylee in the video player above!
