Couple arrested after police find guns, drugs and money inside home

FORT HALL — A man and woman were arrested in Fort Hall Saturday on gun and drug charges.

Creston Kindness and Chelsea Goodrider were taken into custody after officers discovered guns, drugs, money and drug distribution paraphernalia during the service of a search warrant, according to a release from the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.

Fort Hall police received calls around 2 p.m. Saturday reporting gunshots inside a home, the release says.

After obtaining a search warrant, officers served the warrant on the Agency Road home. Officers found two handguns, one semi-automatic rifle, “a large amount of cash,” a ledger, drugs and drug paraphernalia that, the release says, is used in the distribution of drugs.

Kindness has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance near a tribal government building, unlawful possession of a firearm and three counts of unlawful possession of a deadly weapon – all felonies. He is also charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing an officer.

Goodrider faces charges for possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful use of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance near a Tribal Government building, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance.

All charges have been filed through Tribal Court.

Additional tribal charges could be filed, pending a police investigation, the release adds.

Following the investigation, all reports will be forwarded to the United States Attorney’s Office for consideration for federal charges.

“There is no immediate danger to the public at this time and the Fort Hall Police Department will continue to work hard to arrest anyone involved in illegal drug activity in the Fort Hall Community,” the release says.
