IDAHO FALLS – A section of South Fork Boulevard in Idaho Falls is blocked off following a gas leak Tuesday afternoon.

Idaho Falls Fire Department spokeswoman Kerry Hammon tells EastIdahoNews.com the leak happened around 1:45 p.m. A construction crew hit a small service line.

No one has been injured and the damage is minimal, Hammon reports. There is no threat to the public.

The road on the east side of Smith Honda where the leak occurred is blocked off as a safety precaution.

Intermountain Gas is working to repair the leak. Hammon isn’t sure how long the repairs will last.
