World-record holder, Harlem Globetrotter “Too Tall” Winston answers 7 Questions with Emmy

  Published at

Every week I’m interviewing fascinating people in our community, nation and around the world.

Lucius “Too Tall” Winston has been playing with the Harlem Globetrotters since 2017. The 5-10 point guard has set four Guinness World Records titles including most basketball layups in one minute and the most bounced basketball figure-eight moves in one minute. He wants to set even more records in the future!

“Too Tall” loves to sing, act and eat chicken alfredo. He will be in Idaho Falls with the rest of the Globetrotters on Feb. 28 playing at Hero Arena at the Mountain America Center.

“Too Tall” spent a few minutes answering my questions as he was on his way to a haircut. Here’s what I asked him:

  • Where’s the coolest place you’ve played basketball?
  • Did you ever think you would set four world records? What was that like?
  • Can you describe a typical day for you and your other players?
  • Have you ever had a major injury while playing a game and what did you do?
  • We saw the Harlem Globetrotters has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Do you ever want to explore an acting career?
  • I heard you like chicken alfredo and that you love singing. What’s your favorite song to sing?
  • You’re coming to Idaho Falls next week. Have you been here before and what’s your favorite way to have an Idaho potato?

BONUS

  • Do you have any plans to set more world records?
  • What’s your favorite part of being a Harlem Globetrotter?
  • Can you share a piece of advice you’ve learned that might help me?
