Man killed, woman flown to hospital after crash leads to fire in Boise County

The following is a news release from Idaho State Police.
Idaho State Police is investigating a vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday at 3:56 p.m., on SH 21 at mile marker 94 in Boise County.
A 2010 Chevrolet Silverado towing a camp trailer and an ATV trailer was traveling northbound on SH 21. The driver drove off the right shoulder and struck a tree. The vehicle, trailer, and ATV caught fire.
The vehicle was occupied by a 77-year-old male driver and a 77-year-old female passenger, both from Nampa. The male was rescued from the vehicle and succumbed to his injures on scene. The female was transported by air ambulance to a local hospital. Both occupants were wearing their seatbelts.
Traffic on SH 21 was blocked in both directions for approximately four hours, allowing emergency responders to assist those involved and clear the scene.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
