Winter storm temporarily closes Yellowstone entrances, some roads

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK — Travel to and in Yellowstone National Park is not advised due to a significant winter storm, according to a news release from park officials.
“Some park roads are temporarily closed due to winter weather and hazardous driving conditions,” the news release stated.
After the storm passes and as conditions improve, these park roads and entrances will reopen.
Would-be travellers can stay informed about road status in Yellowstone by visiting Park Roads. You may also call (307) 344-2117 for recorded information or text “82190” to (888) 777 (an automatic text reply will confirm receipt and provide instructions).

Most park roads will be closed beginning Nov.1. The park annually closes roads at this time of year to prepare them for the winter season and snowmobile and snowcoach travel, which will begin Dec.15.
