TERRETON – A Terreton man is dead following a two-vehicle collision in Jefferson County Monday morning.

Idaho State Police reports it happened a little after 7 a.m. on ID 33 at mile marker 57 west of Sage Junction.

A 23-year-old man, whose name was not specified, was headed east in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. He crossed the center line and hit a 2018 Volvo semi-truck hauling a trailer. The driver of the semi was a 24-year-old man from Louisville, Kentucky.

The Terreton man was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. The Kentucky man was wearing a seatbelt and was taken in an ambulance to a local hospital. His exact condition is unclear.

Traffic was blocked for about three hours while first responders helped the victims and cleaned up the wreckage. The crash remains under investigation.
