IDAHO FALLS — Bowling alleys aren’t typically known for having incredible food but that’s what you’ll find at Homestead Pizza and Bowling in Idaho Falls.

With fresh dough made from scratch every morning, Homestead offers hearty pizzas, cheesy breadsticks, scrumptious sandwiches and tempting burgers – all with a nice side of customer service.

“Pizza and food are our passions,” explains Homestead General Manager Billy Taylor.

Taylor and two associates own multiple Papa’s Pizza restaurants in Oregon. A few years ago, they were looking to expand into Idaho and learned Skyline Lanes was for sale. They bought the bowling alley, remodeled the building, added new ovens and expanded the kitchen and dining room, which has over 100 seats.

Homestead offers a fresh salad bar all day long. All the pizzas are made fresh, with customers most often ordering pepperoni and combination. A taco pizza, Mama’s pizza (Canadian bacon, pepperoni and lean beef), Barnyard pizza (Canadian bacon, pepperoni, spicy pepperoni, crumbled breakfast bacon and lean beef) and Idahoan pizza (fries, crumbled breakfast bacon and cheddar cheeese) are other options.

When it comes to sandwiches, the French dip is the most popular offering, but the original is also a hit. It’s stacked with salami, pepperoni, Canadian bacon, onions, lettuce, and tomato on bread with a nice coating of spiced butter.

If you’re a burger fan, you have to try the Skyline burger. It’s about six inches tall and has two beef patties, cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion rings and lettuce. Side options include French fries or tater tots.

Homestead is known for its all-you-can-eat lunch buffet that includes the salad bar, pizza, breadsticks and bottomless soda. At $8.95 a person, you’ll find customers visiting day after day.

Homestead Pizza and Bowling is open from 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Fresh food is always served and you don’t have to bowl to stop in for a meal.
