The following is a news release from the Snake River Animal Shelter.
IDAHO FALLS – To better facilitate the needs of the community, Snake River Animal Shelter is now open on Sundays from noon to 3 p.m.
Previously, SRAS was open on Sundays by appointment only. Since these private appointments were so popular, shelter staff decided to eliminate private appointments and simply open the shelter to the public.
“We recognize many people have work schedules or life situations that make it difficult or even impossible to meet a potential pet during standard business hours. We would never want to keep an animal from finding a fur-ever home, so we’re hopeful this additional time will make it easier for families and individuals to meet their new best friend!” shelter Executive Director Michelle Ziel-Dingman says.
The shelter has many pets available for adoption, which are highlighted weekly here.
In addition to Sunday, SRAS is open every Tuesday – Friday from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m., Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Private appointments are available on Mondays. The shelter is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Day.
To schedule a private appointment on a Monday, call (208) 523-4219 or message SRAS on Facebook.
