A Feel Good Friday surprise for a video store owner who saved part of his collection for special customers
Published atEastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Ashley and Ashley Outlet of Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
A few months ago, we shared how a video store in Pocatello is helping a customer even after shutting its doors.
Video Stop closed this year and is liquidating the majority of its collection, but owner David Kraning is keeping a small portion of movies in a tucked-away corner of his adjacent K & B Kwik Stop location. He’s hanging onto the films for a small portion of his customer base, who have regularly come in over the years.
One of these customers is Christina Cavanaugh, who goes to Video Stop nearly every day with her mother, Toni Cavanaugh. Christina has Down syndrome and is mostly nonverbal, so her mom says going to rent a movie has been vital to her routine for at least the last 15 years.
After EastIdahoNews.com shared the story, several national news outlets picked it up and David has received attention from people around the world.
We decided to thank David for setting a good example and caring for people in his community. Check out the surprise in the video player above!
