IDAHO FALLS — A 25-year-old man has been charged after a woman reported their sexual relationship when she was 15 and he was 19.
Tytus Domitry Nowakowski was charged with lewd conduct with a child under 16.
If he his found guilty, he faces a potential maximum punishment of up to life in prison.
According to the court documents, a detective with the Idaho Falls Police Department began to follow up on a case in which the woman had reported that Nowakowski sexually assaulted her. She first reported the crime in December 2022. He was charged in February 2025, and his initial court appearance was on April 28.
The documents do not include a statement from Nowakowski.
The woman was interviewed about her report, in which she told the detective she had contacted Nowakowski when she was 14 through Snapchat.
“(The woman) stated that she made Tytus aware of her age during their conversations, and Tytus stated that he wasn’t interested in a relationship because of her age, (but) he still pursued her for ‘other’ things,” the document states.
The document states that the conversations led to the two meeting in person. The woman told the detective that Nowakowski would pick her up and take her to parking lots behind a business and have sex.
This occurred between August and September 2019 and lasted until she turned 18.
The detective interviewed a third-party witness who confirmed the woman’s claim that Nowakowski picked her up and had seen the pair kissing in a vehicle.
The document states that the woman estimated she and Nowakowski had sex from when she was 15 to 18, which was between 30 and 70 times.
Nowakowski is scheduled to appear before Magistrate Judge John Dewey at 1 p.m. on May 16.
Though Nowakowski has been charged with these crimes, it does not necessarily mean he committed them. Everyone is presumed innocent until they are proven guilty.
