SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Two men have been arrested in connection to the disappearance of an endangered runaway Utah teenager.

Alisa Petrov, 15, was last seen in Provo, Utah, on the evening of April 21, according to the South Jordan Police Department. She left school, walked to a gas station where she bought some items and was later spotted on Utah Transit Authority surveillance video exiting a train in Provo just before midnight.

Alisa reportedly asked multiple people to help her get to Las Vegas, Nevada. Her family is offering a $20,000 reward “to the first person who provides verifiable information that directly leads to the safe return of Alisa.”

On Wednesday night, Matthew Nicholas Menard of Miami, Florida, turned himself in to the South Jordan Police Department in relation to the case, authorities announced.

He faces multiple charges, including aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, enticement of a minor, and criminal solicitation. Menard was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail.

Samuel Mitchell of Herriman, Utah, was also taken into custody. He is charged with sexual exploitation of a minor and is also at the Salt Lake County Jail.

“South Jordan Police will continue its efforts to locate Alisa and follow other leads,” police said in a news release.

Anyone with information on Alisa’s whereabouts is asked to call the Salt Lake Valley Emergency Communications Center at (801) 840-4000.
