Teton takes East Idaho Holiday Shootout boys’ varsity Air Force championship

IDAHO FALLS — The Teton Timberwolves and Idaho Falls Tigers met Wednesday afternoon at Idaho Falls High School with an East Idaho Holiday Shootout title on the line.
Teton (8-2, 0-0) overcame a pair of deep buzzer-beaters from Idaho Falls junior Indy Groberg to claim the boys’ varsity Air Force title behind a 74-69 victory.
The Timberwolves were led by a monster performance from sophomore Ian Haskell, who scored a game-high 28 points, including some clutch fourth-quarter free-throw shooting to hold a late lead. Haskell was bolstered by senior Bradley Brown, who scored 11 points, and junior Canon Kunz, who added 16.
The Tigers (3-6, 0-2) got 24 points from senior Makai Ferguson, to go with 14 from junior Trey Hafer and 11 from Groberg.
Other East Idaho Holiday Shootout champions
The Sugar-Salem Diggers topped the Bonneville Bees, 61-58, to claim the boys’ varsity Navy Bracket
Bonneville beat the Evanston (WY) Devile, 45-35, to win the girls’ varsity Navy Bracket.
The Rigby Trojans stayed perfect on the season (14-0, 3-0) with a 63-45 victory over the Mountain Ridge (UT) Sentinels in the finals of the girls’ varsity Army Bracket.
