Woman rushed to hospital after crashing into semi in Blackfoot

BLACKFOOT — Idaho State Police is investigating a two-vehicle collision that shut down a portion of State Highway 39 in Blackfoot for roughly five hours Monday afternoon.
The crash occurred around 12:30 p.m. near 450 West and State Highway 39.
According to investigators, a 65-year-old woman from Blackfoot was driving a Dodge van southbound when she crossed the center line and struck a northbound Peterbilt semi pulling a Western Trailers unit.
The woman was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital. The 65-year-old man driving the semi was not injured.
Troopers say the van driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The semi driver was wearing a seatbelt.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
