A Feel Good Friday surprise for a man who serves his neighbors on garbage day
Published atEastIdahoNews.com is partnering with Smith Honda in Idaho Falls to honor people in our community for Feel Good Friday. Every week, we surprise someone deserving of special recognition.
We received an email recently about a man who makes sure everyone in his neighborhood has their garbage can returned to their home each week. It said:
Arlo wakes up every day looking for opportunities to bless others around him. He’s been through a lot, losing his sweet wife to ALS when she was only 57. Every Wednesday is garbage day in the neighborhood. After the garbage truck has come through, Arlo goes on what he calls “his garbage route.” He walks the 3.5 miles around to each home in the neighborhood and pulls their garbage can back in for the families. While this might be a simple gesture, its something he really looks forward to each week and his neighbors have really come to enjoy seeing him regularly as well. Arlo has been known to mow neighbors’ yards without them knowing and helping a young mother with little kids load her car with groceries while it’s raining. The man is truly the best.
We decided to surprise Arlo and thank him for Feel Good Friday. Check out the video player above!
