LIVE UPDATES: Day 1 of jury selection in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial
Published at | Updated atPLYMOUTH, Mass. — Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is underway. The 35-year-old Massachusetts woman is charged with three counts of murder for the strangling deaths of her three children — ages 5, 3 and 8 months — in January 2023.
Clancy is expected to be present in the courtroom every day, bound to a wheelchair after a jump from her home’s second-story window, an alleged suicide attempt immediately after the murders, left her paralyzed.
Clancy’s defense lawyer claims she was insane when she killed the children, suffering from postpartum psychosis, and could not appreciate the wrongfulness of her actions. She faces a potential sentence of life in prison without parole if she is convicted.
