WATCH: Kouri Richins back in court on fraud, forgery and money laundering charges

PARK CITY, Utah — Kouri Richins was back in court Friday after her request for a new judge was denied.
Richins faces charges including five counts of mortgage fraud, five counts of forgery, seven counts of issuing a bad check, seven counts of money laundering, communications fraud and engaging in a pattern of illegal activity.
The hearing turned out to be very short. The defense requested a continuance to allow more time to review the evidence in the case, and the judge granted the request.
The next hearing in the case was scheduled for Oct. 9.
The alleged crimes Richins is now going to trial for happened prior to the death of her husband, Eric Richins. Kouri Richins has already been convicted of his murder and attended Friday’s proceedings from the Utah State Prison.
