The following is a news release from the City of Idaho Falls.

Beginning Monday, Aug. 17, HK Contractors will begin chip seal work on various streets throughout the city, including some arterial roadways.

Work will take place in phases, with crews moving to different locations throughout the project. Because weather, equipment availability and other factors can affect the schedule, the order and timing of work is subject to change.

On-street parking will be restricted in active work areas, and drivers should expect lane closures and delays on these streets as contractors clean the streets, apply a chip seal, remove excess chips and apply a fog seal. Work is anticipated to be completed in September.

Streets getting chip sealed will generally follow this order, depending on conditions:

  • Holmes Avenue, 1st Street
  • 22nd Street, 23rd Street, 24th Street, Lee Avenue, Emerson Avenue, Jennie Lee Drive, Mojave Street, St. Clair Road
  • Resilient Lane, Radiant Drive, Autumn Lane, Sandpiper Way, Sand Springs Road, Palm Springs Drive, Boardwalk Road, Dune Village Way, Glass
Mountain Boulevard, Beach Park Drive, Sand Castle Place, Desert Peak Drive, Providence Drive

  • Broken Stone Way, Hideout Drive, Cold Springs Drive, Loscha Street, Palisade Drive, Galena Summit Drive, Columbia Street
  • Montezuma Street, Chapelle Avenue, Crispin Drive, Edna Street, Wyndham Street, South 8th West, South 9th West, Adeline Court
