Police in Rexburg are asking the public to avoid and evacuate an area of East Main Street as they work to neutralize a suspected explosive device.
Police originally said the incident was happening on West Main Street, but later corrected their social media post to say East Main Street.
Businesses along East Main Street, from Center Street to 1st East, are being evacuated, according to a Wednesday afternoon Facebook post by the Rexburg Police Department. It says the suspicious item was found inside a vehicle and is believed to be an unexploded ordnance.
