Idaho Falls Fire Department invites community members to annual fire safety block party

IDAHO FALLS — It’s that time of year again when the Idaho Falls Fire Department invites the community to its annual Fire Prevention Block Party for a night of free food, fun and fire education.
According to a news release from the IFFD, the block party starts Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 5 p.m. at IFFD Station 1, located at 343 E Street, where community members can meet and learn from local firefighters.
This party is a way for members of the fire department to connect with the community outside emergency situations, according to the release.
“It also gives children and families a chance to become familiar with firefighters, fire engines and the station in a fun and welcoming environment,” the release states.
Folks can expect free food, fire engine tours, kids’ firefighting challenges, fire safety education, live demonstrations, and photos with Sparky the Fire Dog.
The release states that the IFFD thanks the National Fire Protection Association, the Community Food Basket of Idaho Falls, and other sponsors who help to make this event possible.
