IDAHO FALLS — The Idaho Falls mayor has proclaimed Sept. 19 “Arts Day.” A street party will be held this Saturday to celebrate.

Mayor Lisa Burtenshaw issued a proclamation declaring Sept. 19 as Arts Day in the City of Idaho Falls.

“The proclamation celebrates the collaborative efforts of five arts organizations — the Idaho Falls Arts Council, Idaho Falls Symphony, Art Museum of Eastern Idaho, Eastern Idaho Jazz Society and ARTitorium on Broadway — who have joined together to present a full day of free concerts, performances, exhibitions, educational experiences and hands-on artistic activities open to all,” a release from the City of Idaho Falls states.

The street party will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. on A Street, with a live music performance starting at 7 p.m. Other events will take place throughout the day.

  • 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Rolling on the River at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho: Community members are invited to come watch artists create oversized prints using hand-carved blocks and a full-size steam roller. Guests can make their own custom T-shirt or canvas tote bag while supplies last.
  • 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. — Jazz on A Street: Free live jazz outside Pachangas Mexican Restaurant, provided by the Eastern Idaho Jazz Society.
  • 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. — Free admission at ARTitorium: “Bring the whole family to explore, play, experiment and create.”
  • 5:30 p.m. — Sounds of America: Free Idaho Falls Symphony concert in the park at the Freeman Park Amphitheater. Guests are invited to bring lawn chairs or blankets and come enjoy music under the open sky.
  • 6 p.m. — 26-27 Season Preview Street Party: The Idaho Falls Arts Council will close out the day with the street party.

    • According to a release from the city of Idaho Falls, Greater Idaho Falls Transit will provide a complimentary shuttle service between participating venues throughout the day.

    “Arts Day is a celebration of the creativity, collaboration, and cultural vitality that make Idaho Falls a thriving and welcoming community,” said Gray Augustus, executive director of the Idaho Falls Arts Council, in the release. “From art to jazz to family fun and live music, there’s something for everyone. We’re thrilled to cap the day with our Season Preview Street Party, where the whole community can get a first look at everything the new season has in store.”

    The Season Preview Street Party will be the day’s headline event, offering the community a preview of the Idaho Falls Arts Council’s 2026-2027 art seasons. Free popcorn, water, soda and “glow swag” will be at the event, according to the release.
