Motorcyclist dies days after crash in western Idaho

NEW PLYMOUTH — A New Plymouth man died several days after he was critically injured in a motorcycle crash south of New Plymouth.
The crash happened around 5:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Southeast 2nd Avenue, according to Idaho State Police.
Investigators say a 25-year-old New Plymouth woman was driving a 2020 Toyota Tacoma pulling a trailer north on U.S. 30. A juvenile was also in the pickup.
A 33-year-old New Plymouth man riding a 1994 Yamaha XJ600 motorcycle was traveling north behind the Tacoma.
Police say the Tacoma slowed to turn west onto Southeast 2nd Avenue. The motorcyclist attempted to avoid the pickup by crossing the center line into oncoming traffic before crashing into the driver’s side of the Tacoma.
The motorcyclist was critically injured and flown by air ambulance to a hospital. ISP said he died from his injuries on Aug. 30, five days after the crash.
The woman and juvenile in the Tacoma were not injured. Police say the driver was wearing a seat belt, the juvenile was properly secured in a car seat and the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
U.S. 30 was blocked in both directions for about an hour while emergency crews responded and cleared the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by Idaho State Police.
