Two drivers hospitalized after significant crash on US-26 on Monday

AMMON — Idaho State Police released more information about a crash on U.S. Highway 26 on Monday evening that blocked traffic for over an hour and sent two individuals to the hospital.
According to an ISP news release, at around 6:30 p.m., a crash occurred on US-26 and North 45 East involving two vehicles.
The release states that a 2005 Toyota Prius was driving southbound on North 45th East when it entered the intersection. A 2023 Nissan Rogue was heading eastbound when it collided with the Prius.
Both drivers, a 28-year-old woman from Ammon and a 63-year-old woman from Boise, were taken to a local hospital. ISP stated that both drivers were wearing seatbelts. Their conditions are unknown.
The intersection of US-26 and North 45th East was blocked for an hour and a half.
Along with ISP, the Idaho Falls Fire Department, Idaho Falls EMS and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office all assisted with the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by ISP.
