WATCH LIVE: Day 2 of trial for Caleb Flynn, former ‘American Idol’ contestant charged with murder

Prosecutors are expected to continue questioning their witnesses on Monday in the murder trial for Caleb Flynn, a former “American Idol” contestant accused of shooting and killing his wife. Caleb, who competed on the hit reality TV singing competition in 2013, is charged with aggravated murder and numerous other crimes related to Ashley Flynn’s death in February 2026.

Ashley, a 37-year-old mother of two, was fatally shot inside the couple’s Tipp City, Ohio, home on Feb. 16. In a 911 call made early that morning, Caleb told dispatchers he had been sleeping in another room and woke up to find his wife dead. He said he thought someone had broken into their home and shot Ashley.

Following three days of investigation, police placed Caleb under arrest for investigation of murder and evidence tampering. Prosecutors later charged him with the crime, alleging he shot and killed Ashley and then staged the crime scene to look like a burglary-gone-wrong.
