TROY, Ohio — Following an emotional day of testimony from Ashley Flynn’s family members, prosecutors on Wednesday will continue their case against her husband Caleb Flynn, who is charged with her murder. Caleb, known for his appearance as a contestant on “American Idol” in 2013, is charged with aggravated murder and numerous other crimes related to Ashley’s death.
Ashley, a 37-year-old mother of two, was fatally shot inside the couple’s Tipp City, Ohio, home on Feb. 16 of this year. In a 911 call made early that morning, Caleb told dispatchers he had been sleeping in another room and woke up to find his wife dead. He said he thought someone had broken into their home and shot Ashley.
Three days later, police placed Caleb under arrest for investigation of murder and evidence tampering. Prosecutors later charged him with multiple felonies, alleging he shot and killed Ashley and then staged the crime scene to look like a burglary-gone-wrong.
