Lane closures planned on I-15 near Fort Hall next week

FORT HALL — Motorists traveling on southbound Interstate 15 near Fort Hall should prepare for lane closures and changing traffic patterns next week as construction crews continue work on the highway.
The Idaho Transportation Department says crews will close lanes between the Sheepskin Road Bridge and an area south of the Fort Hall Interchange (Exit 80) from 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Friday, Nov. 9-13.
At least one lane of southbound I-15 will remain open, but drivers should expect delays, particularly during peak afternoon travel times. Officials recommend considering an alternate route if possible.
Crews will be paving and striping the interstate, continuing construction of the concrete median barrier separating northbound and southbound traffic, and installing guardrails and drainage infrastructure.
Motorists should also watch for trucks frequently entering and exiting the work zone. The schedule is weather-dependent, and work could be delayed by poor conditions.
The construction project began in fall 2024 and is designed to improve safety and traffic capacity by widening I-15 to three lanes in each direction between Northgate and Fort Hall. The project is expected to be completed in 2027.
Drivers are encouraged to watch for changing traffic patterns, follow construction signs and obey posted speed limits.
Motorists can visit 511.idaho.gov to check road conditions, plan their routes and prepare for potential delays.
