“The Newsroom” Final Season Teaser-Trailer Debuts

Melissa Moseley/HBO(NEW YORK) — The third and final season of HBO’s The Newsroom premieres in November, but already HBO has released a teaser-trailer.

Dubbed “Copier Tease,” the trailer doesn’t feature any actual footage from the series — only glimpses of Aaron Sorkin’s script for the final episodes as a copy machine spits out pages of dialog. Among the lines of script that flash across the screen:

Will: How do you think they’re gonna get the whistleblower?

Reese: He’s gonna be sent to jail.

Maggie: Feel free to fire me.

Will: You induced him to commit a felony. You conspired to commit espionage.

Will: Well…I think it’s time for me to quit.  FADE TO BLACK.

Of course, none of the pages are shown in any context.

Jeff Daniels plays News Night anchor and managing editor Will McAvoy on The Newsroom. Chris Messina plays Reese Lansing, president of the network that airs News Night, while Alison Pill plays News Night associate producer Maggie Jordan.
