Rice, a graduate of New Rochelle High School in Westchester County, New York, returned to the sidelines of his alma mater along with his wife, who he was seen punching and knocking out in a video first posted on TMZ Sports a week ago.

The couple and their small daughter attended a game against Ramapo. Some fans were seen greeting the star while New Rochelle coach Louis DeRienzo remarked, “Ray is a part of our family, and a part of this program and that’s why I’m happy he’s here today. I know the character of the man and he will rise from this.”

However, not all at New Rochelle High School were happy that Rice was back.

Principal Reginald Richardson wrote a letter to parents last week, saying, “We condemn his actions and know that solving problems with physical violence is never acceptable.”

Meanwhile, Rice’s photo and jersey were also removed from the high school’s “wall of fame.”
