This past season, Yost led the Royals to their first World Series appearance since 1985, where they fell to the San Francisco Giants in seven games.

Yost took over as manager of the Royals in May 2010 for Trey Hillman. During his tenure in Kansas City, he has posted a record of 373-402.

He previously led the Milwaukee Brewers from 2003-2008, where he went 457-502.

Yost has the third-most wins in Royals history, trailing only Whitey Herzog (410) and Dick Howser (404).
