First Look at “Barbershop 3” Released, Anthony Anderson Talks Reprising His Role

MGM(NEW YORK) — Ice Cube gave Barbershop fans something to whet their appetites before Barbershop 3, in which he reprises his role as Calvin, hits theaters next year.

A newly released, “first look” video shows behind-the-scenes footage of the film, which stars Cedric the Entertainer, Common, Regina Hall, J.B. Smoove and Nicki Minaj.

“We got a lot of big, new faces that’s gonna keep this franchise rolling and going,” Cube says in the video.

The video also features Anthony Anderson on set. The black-ish star is reprising his role as J.D. in the third film.

Anderson told ABC Radio earlier this year what moviegoers can expect from his character this time around.

“J.D. is out of prison. He’s in the community. He’s started his own catering company called…’Gangsta’ Grub,'” he explained, before adding, “He walks around with t-shirts that promote his company and the sayings on his shirt [are] like, ‘Eat My Meat,’ [and] ‘Put It in Your Mouth.'” Yeah, that’s wh[o] J.D. is, but it’s gonna be funny. It’s gonna be funny. We’re having fun with that.”
