GREAT FALLS, MT – In game two of a three-game series at Centene Stadium, the Idaho Falls Chukars rolled to a victory against the Great Falls Voyagers by a score of 8-2 on Wednesday night.

Following a game where they totaled just two runs on five hits, the Chukars began their offense barrage early.

In the first inning, Idaho Falls churned out seven hits and tacked on four runs against Voyagers starter Matt Ball (L, 0-2). Highlighting the surge was a RBI double Marten Gasparini and RBI singles from outfielder Roman Collins and designated hitter Nick Dini.

The Chukars went on to score one run in the second inning and two more runs in the third inning to pull away early for the victory. They also tacked on an insurance run in the fifth inning.

From an offensive perspective, third basemen Ryan Dale had two separate RBI singles while first basemen Josh Banuelos, second basemen Jeckson Flores, Dini and Gasparini each had two hits apiece. Out of the season-high eight stolen bases for the Chukars on the season, Flores had three while Gasparini had two.

On the mound, starting pitcher Carter Hope threw admirably in his Chukars debut, tossing 3.1 innings while given up just two runs on five hits. Lefty Tripp Davis (W, 2-0) earned the win in relief, shutting out the Voyagers in 3.2 innings pitched without giving up a single hit. Davis has yet to give up an earned run this season in four appearances.

Righty Brian Bayliss pitched two scoreless innings to cap off the victory for the Chukars.

Idaho Falls will play game three of a seven-game road trip and the final game of a three-game series against the Great Falls Voyagers on Thursday. The Chukars will send LHP Hunter Haynes (0-4, 11.25 ERA) while the Voyagers will counter with a pitcher that is to be determined. First pitch is at 7:00 PM.
