Idaho Falls man arrested for felony arson

IDAHO FALLS — Idaho Falls Police arrested Douglas R. Wootton, 49, for third-degree arson Friday morning.
The Idaho Falls man was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
Officers responded to a field south of Sunnyside Road and the Snake River in reference to a man dressed in dark clothing lighting fires around 12:30 a.m., said Joelyn Hansen, spokeswoman for the Idaho Falls Police Department.
Officers found two separate field fires and put out the smaller fire with a fire extinguisher. The Idaho Falls Fire Department extinguished the larger fire, Hansen said.
Officers searched the area and located Wootten, who matched the description of the witness.
Hansen said he initially ran from police, but was found hiding under some sagebrush.
Wootton is being held at the Bonneville County Jail. No bond has been set at this time. His arraignment is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 14.
