Julianne Hough Gets Engaged to Hockey Player Boyfriend, Brooks Laich

ABC/Adam Taylor(NEW YORK) — Julianne Hough announced Tuesday on Instagram that she’s engaged to her boyfriend, pro hockey player Brooks Laich.
“We are overwhelmed with joy and excitement to share with you our recent engagement! #fiancé #love,” she wrote, next to a picture of her jumping into his arms.
The Dancing with the Stars judge has been dating Laich, who plays for the Washington Capitals, since last December. They were set up by a mutual friend, the actor Teddy Sears.
In April, Hough sounded determined to make their relationship work no matter what. “We are going to make it work,” she told ABC News. “In every facet, whether it’s family, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, whatever.”
Hough has been linked to film director Ari Sandel. She also dated American Idol host Ryan Seacrest from 2010 to 2013.
