IDAHO FALLS — An Idaho Falls woman was arrested for felony forgery and grand theft Friday Oct. 9., after stealing a check from her mother and hiring a taxi.
Jessie R. Williams, 22, also was arrested for misdemeanor theft of services and booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
Idaho Falls Police report Williams stole a check from her mother and hired an Idaho Falls taxi service to drive her to Pocatello. The taxi fare was $100.
Police spokeswoman Joelyn Hansen said Williams’ mother reported the theft to police.
The taxi company, after learning it was a forged checked, returned the check to the rightful owner. The taxi company also asked police to file charges against Williams for the unpaid taxi fare to Pocatello.
No bond has been set as this time. She is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, Oct. 13.
