Kia Recalls Nearly 400,000 Sorento SUVs over Shifting Issue

Harold Cunningham/Getty Images(NEW YORK) — Kia is recalling more than 377,000 SUVs because of a shifting issue.
The recall affects Sorento crossovers from model years 2011 to 2013. The automaker says these vehicles can shift out of park, even if the brake isn’t pressed, potentially causing them to roll unexpectedly.
So far, three injuries have been reported.
Kia will notify affected owners, who will then be able to replace the brake-shift interlock mechanism in their vehicles free of charge at their local dealers.
The recall is expected to begin late next month.
