Still, that is what starting pitcher Jamie Moyer is attempting with the Colorado Rockies.

After missing all of the 2011 season following Tommy John Surgery, Moyer made his spring training debut on Wednesday with the Rockies. Moyer pitched well, throwing two scoreless innings and allowed just one hit.

“I was happy with how things went, I threw for strikes and got some groundballs,” Moyer told the Denver Post. “I will continue to push … I believe I have a long way to go yet. I want to prove something to this team, to make this team. I don’t think I can dwell too much on this one outing.”

Moyer last pitched in 2010 for the Philadelphia Phillies. He went 9-9 with a 4.84 ERA.

To put things in perspective, when Moyer was getting prepared for his eighth Major League season, the Rockies were entering their inaugural season.
