St. Anthony Police Chief Terry Harris said Thursday that Erik Estrada will not be making this trip due to an illness in his family. The department still plans on going ahead with the program at the High School and the Elementary School.

ST. ANTHONY — The star of the TV hit CHiPS is returning to east Idaho to fight internet crime.
Erik Estrada was sworn in as a reserve officer for the St. Anthony Police Department in July.
Estrada and his teammate, retired police officer Daryl Williams, will be back in town Thursday with some new additions to their team.

St. Anthony Police Chief Terry Harris says the group will be meet with representatives from the city, Fremont County, the Attorney General’s office and the Idaho Police Academy. Estrada will discuss the development of a computer program that will be used to help children who become the victims of cyber and real world predators.
Harris, Estrada and Williams will also give a presentation at South Fremont High School to teach children how to protect themselves.
After the presentation, top readers at Henry’s Fork Elementary School’s Read-A-Thon will be rewarded for their scholarly efforts by spending a few hours with the officers.
