Jeff Foxworthy to headline Eastern Idaho State Fair

IDAHO FALLS — The Eastern Idaho State Fair’s theme and event lineup was officially announced at Wednesday’s media-day event.
EISF manager Brandon Bird announced the 2017 theme as “Bigger is Better.” The theme focuses on the new opening day of the fair Sept. 1, a Friday, giving patrons and extra day than usual to enjoy entertainment according to a news release. The fair will go through Sept. 9.
Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is kicking off two nights of comedy at the fair on Friday. His career includes hosting game shows, the author of several books, and the owner of his own company, Foxworthy Outdoors.
Bill Engvall will be taking over the other night of comedy on Sept. 7. Engvall is an award-winning comedian and was a part of the Blue Collar Comedy concert films, which received a Grammy nomination.
On Sept. 8, muscial artist Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will be performing. As the leader of the Blackhearts, Jett has become a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. She’s had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including “Bad Reputation,” “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll,” “I Hate Myself For Loving You” and “Crimson and Clover.”
The fair will also feature Monster Truck Insanity, the Western Tractor Pull Nationals, September Slam Demolition Derby, Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo and Gem State Classic Pro Rodeo Package.

The Eastern Idaho State Fair is a 16-county fair district. More than 230,000 people visit the event annually making it Eastern Idaho’s longest running and largest community event, according to the news release.
