WEATHER & ROADS: Record high temperatures on Thanksgiving
Published atIDAHO FALLS — The National Weather Service reported record high temperatures at all five southeast Idaho climate sites on Thanksgiving. The record temperatures ranged from 62 degrees in Idaho Falls to 69 degrees in Pocatello. The other three record temperatures were in Burley, Stanley, Challis.
However, temperatures have decreased for Friday, Nov. 24. Temperatures across the region will range in the mid-to-high 40s and 50s today.
No major weather advisories are in effect in eastern Idaho.
Friday’s Forecast:
Idaho Falls, Rigby and Rexburg
It’ll be mostly cloudy today with a chance of rain. More sun is possible during the afternoon with highs of 46 to 53 degrees and southwest winds of 15 to 25 mph. It’ll be cloudy at night with lows of 25 to 35 degrees and southwest winds of 10 to 15 mph.
Pocatello, Chubbuck and Blackfoot
It’ll be cloudy with a chance of rain today, although more sun is possible in the afternoon. Highs of 47 to 54 degrees are expected with high winds of 20 to 30 mph. It’ll be cloudy at night with lows 29 to 36 degrees and decreasing winds of 10 to 15 mph.
Dubois, St. Anthony, Ashton, Island Park, Driggs, and Victor
It’ll be mostly cloudy today with a chance of rain or snow. It’ll get increasingly sunny in the afternoon with highs of 42 to 49 degrees. It’ll be cloudy at night with lows of 25 to 32 degrees.
Arco, Challis, and Mackay
It’ll be partly sunny today with a chance of snow or rain. Highs of 42 to 50 degrees are expected. It’ll be clear at night with lows of 22 to 29 degrees.
Henry, Soda Springs, Downey, and Lava Hot Springs
It’s going to rain or snow today. It’ll be breezy with highs of 46 to 53 degrees. It’ll be cloudy at night with lows of 27 to 34 degrees.
Road Report:
The Idaho Transportation Department is reporting fair road conditions on Idaho Highway 29 between Leadore and the Montana border due to icy patches on the roadway.
