Leslie Stephen Johnson
July 16th, 1951 - July 2nd, 2018
Leslie Stephen Johnson passed away July 2, 2018 in Mesa Arizona of an extended illness.
He was born on July 16, 1951 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Lorna Musgrave Johnson and Cleon L. Johnson.
He attended grade school in Ucon, Idaho and Ammon Junior High and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1969.
He later attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho.
He married Kathleen Suitter Johnson in November 1970 and together they had two children, Travis L Johnson of Idaho Falls and Stephanie Johnson of Mesa, Arizona.
They were later divorced.
He started work in the potato industry in 1970 for Bass and Hurley in Rexburg, Idaho. He later worked in sales for Circle Valley Produce, Blaine Larsen Farms and Sunnyside Potato Co.
In 1976 he and his father started The Travis Company and together they built and sold 43 family spec homes in the Idaho Falls area.
In 1978 they built Tramps Carwash and operated it for 20 years in Idaho Falls.
He later moved to Mesa, Arizona and worked for Cal-Am homes where he sold over 400 homes. He retired in 2016.
He served on the board of directors at the Idaho Falls Country Club and was a member for many years.
He loved to golf and taught his son and daughter to golf at an early age. He enjoyed trips on his Honda Goldwing and in his motorhome.
He always enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren and especially on the holidays.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lorna Musgrave Johnson and Cleon L. Johnson of Idaho Falls and his grandparents Leslie Johnson and Ruby Johnson of Shelley, Idaho and two infant brothers.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Travis L Johnson and Kimberley Waite Johnson of Idaho Falls, Idaho and his daughter Stephanie Johnson of Mesa, Arizona, grandchildren Mickinzie Johnson of Moscow, Idaho, Karriann Johnson of Salt Lake City, Utah, Tyler L Johnson of Boise, Idaho and Jaxen Shey Johnson of Mesa Arizona. His sister and brother-in-law Christine Johnson O’Dell and Daniel O’Dell of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
