Dee Lane Maupin
February 12th, 1953 - January 16th, 2022
Dee Lane Maupin, 68 passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease on January 16, 2022 at his home in Rigby, Idaho, surrounded by his loving family.
Dee Lane was born in Ashton, Idaho, on February 12, 1953, to Harry and Elnora Maupin. He graduated from South Fremont where he excelled in wrestling, taking home the state title three years in a row. A couple of his favorite classes were physical education and shop. When he was home he enjoyed helping out with all the farm animals and chores. Big red, his rooster, was always more of a pet than a farm animal.
After high school Dee Lane married Jaqueline Miller and they had four children together. Justin and Jessica Maupin, Jennifer Mathie, Kim and Josh Rangel, and Janell and Sam Montoya. They later divorced. Dee Lane later met and married Sheryn Beth Rhoton and they spent many years together. Dee Lane was a hard worker and eventually started his own business. He was always very social and enjoyed working closely with the local farmers.
Later in life, he enjoyed traveling, riding his Harley, playing cards and he was always up for a good prank. Dee Lane is survived by Sheryn, his four children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. As per Dee Lane’s final wishes there will not be a formal service held. He will be missed very much.
