“The Hunger Games” the Top Winner at People’s Choice Awards
Published at(LOS ANGELES) — The Hunger Games was the movie of choice at The 39th Annual People’s Choice Awards Wednesday night.
The blockbuster film received five awards at the Los Angeles ceremony, including favorite movie, favorite action movie and favorite movie franchise.
Its main star, Jennifer Lawrence, picked up the trophy for favorite face of heroism for her performance in The Hunger Games, and she shared the prize for favorite on-screen chemistry with her co-stars, Chris Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
Lawrence was also named favorite movie actress, an award that isn’t specific to her role in The Hunger Games.
Sandra Bullock was presented with the People’s Choice Awards’ first-ever humanitarian honor for her charitable efforts in post-Hurricane Katrina New Orleans.
The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco hosted the CBS telecast, which ended with her sitcom earning the award for favorite network TV comedy.
