There are many Easter Egg hunts this week; here’s where and when

There will be many Easter Egg hunts this year across East Idaho. No matter where you live in the region, there should be a hunt somewhere within driving distance. Below is a list of when the Easter Egg Hunts are happening and where to find them.
Idaho Falls
April 8, 10 a.m. – Snake River Landing
The 8th Annual Great Easter Egg Hunt at Snake River Landing
This year, there will be big changes from the previous Easter Egg hunts. There will be large, separate areas for egg hunters of different age groups. Spread out through these areas, there will be over 26,000 eggs. This year’s Camp Hayden Special Needs Hunt will be held in conjunction with the Great Easter Egg Hunt.
Each egg hunt is separated into these different age groups:
April 8, 12-3 p.m.- Downtown Idaho Falls (beginning at the corner of B Street and Park Avenue)
Where is the Easter Bunny?
Idaho Falls Downtown Development Corporation will hold this event in Downtown Idaho Falls at Civitan Plaza. Participants will pick up a scavenger hunt map and follow it to hidden stuffed bunnies. Bunnies will be hidden in businesses all over downtown, so come prepared to walk.
Adults can search inside Idaho Mountain Trading for just one Golden Egg. Once found, they can tell the counter where they found it and submit a form to enter a drawing to win a Downtown gift certificate.
April 8, 1 p.m. – Hope Lutheran Church & School (2071 12th St.)
Drive Thru Easter Egg Hunt
Hope Lutheran Church and School will hold its ‘Drive-Thru Easter Egg Hunt’ where they hand out Easter goodie bags. Be sure to arrive early; quantities are limited.
Ammon
April 8, 10 a.m. – McCowin Park
City of Ammon Easter Egg Hunt!
The city of Ammon expects a hopping good time at McCowin Park this year. Participating children will be divided by age groups:up to two years; three to five; six to nine; and 10 to 12 years old. Arrive early!
The event is sponsored by the Ammon Division of the Bonneville County Fire Protection District.
Downey
April 8, 1 p.m. – Downata Hotsprings
Downata Hot Springs
Downata Hot Springs will be hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for kids aged up to 12. The egg hunts will be divided by age. The first hunt for aged up to two will begin at 1 p.m.; ages 3 to 6 at 1:15 p.m.; and ages seven to 12 at 1:30 p.m.
There will be a Pinata and other gaames for kids ages three to 12 starting at 2 p.m., and a free family movie at 4 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased online for $10 for children aged three to 12 and $5 for children aged up to two-years-old. Ticket can also be purchased at the door for $12 and $7, respectively.
Kids can be on the look out for Winnie the Pooh and the Easter Bunny.
Malad
April 8, 10 a.m. – Malad City Park
Malad Easter Egg Hunt
The Malad Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding an Easter Egg hunt for kids up to 12 years old. Donations of candy-filled plastic eggs are needed and appreciated (no real eggs, please). If you wish to donate eggs, you may drop them off at Hess Lumber or the hospital, or give them to any EMT by April 6.
Pocatello
April 8, 11 a.m. – Bannock County Event Center
Easter Bunny Hop ‘n Play
This year’s Hop ‘n Play event has a new location. Families can park on the corner of the Fairgrounds and Olympus beginning at 11 a.m. The Easter Egg Hunt starts at noon.
People who attend the event will be excited to see food trucks, a petting zoo and pictures with the Easter Bunny. There won’t be a vendor fair due to concerns about the weather, but everything else attendees have come to love about the event will be there.
Chubbuck
April 22, 11 a.m. – Stuart Park
Eggcessible Easter Egg Hunt
The Eggcessible East Egg Hunt has been postponed due to recent snowstorms. It will now be held on April 22.
The Portneuf District Library is holding its annual Easter Egg hunt for individuals with special needs and their families.
There will be noise-making eggs for those with vision impairments, a wheelchair-accessible hunt and treats and prices for children who can’t eat traditional candy.
It’s a free event, but tickets are required. They can be acquired at the Portneuf District Library as well as various therapy agencies.
Blackfoot
April 8, 9 a.m. – Jensen Grove Park
30,000 Easter Egg Hunt
Bingham Healthcare Pediatrics and the Greater Blackfoot Area Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Easter Egg hunt, where 30,000 eggs will be scattered. Grand prizes will be awarded for every age group.
Starting at 9 a.m., kids can meet the Easter Bunny and snap some a selfie the selfie booth. The egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m.
Shelley
April 8, 10:50 a.m. – Shelley City Park-Dawn Lloyd Field
Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Shelley Kiwanis and the City of Shelley will hold its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 8. Arrive by 10:50; the hunt will kick off at 11 a.m. The field will be sectioned off according to age. There will be a section for kids who need special assistance.
The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance.
Rigby
April 7, 6 p.m. – Rigby Middle School (enter from the west-side doors facing 3800 West)
Rigby’s Egg Festival and Hunt will be held inside the middle school this year, due to weather concerns. The hunt is open to area students in fifth to eighth.
There will be activities, food and a visit from the Easter Bunny.
April 8, 10 a.m. – Larry Wilson Park
Rigby Easter Egg Hunt
The Rigby Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, will host the Rigby Easter Egg Hunt, a standard egg hunt for children up to 11 years old.
Central Fire District will host The Golden Egg Hunt for older kids aged 12-17. This hunt will begin at the basketball courts.
Rexburg
April 8, 10 a.m. – Porter Park
Easter Egg Hunt Community Event
The Rexburg Kiwanis Club, the Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce, the City of Rexburg and DWI Rexburg Campus will be holding an Easter Egg hunt at Porter Park. There will be bike giveaways, pictures and carousel rides.
Let’s hope a moose doesn’t attend again this year!
St. Anthony
April 8, 10 a.m. – South Fremont Junior High School
East Idaho Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt
Fremont County Search and Rescue will host their Annual East Idaho Special Needs Easter Egg Hunt at South Fremont Junior High School in St. Anthony. People living anywhere from Island Park to Pocatello are welcome.
Children and adults with special needs and those living with disabilities or challenges are encouraged to attend.
Ashton
April 8, 10 a.m. – North Fremont High School
Ashton Community Easter Egg Hunt
Ashton is having a Drive Thu Easter Egg Hunt this year due to weather concerns and snow still being on the ground.
The mobile hunt will begin at North Fremont High School, then go down to the cemetery Road turn in North Fremont high school driveway. Signs and volunteers will be posted to help participants find their way.
Participants will be asked how many children are in the vehicle and will be given a color card with that number on it. Volunteers will check the card as vehicles go through each stop. Children must be present in the vehicle at the hunt.
Tickets are free for children 11 years old and younger.
A drawing will be held live on Facebook at 11:30 a.m. There will be basketballs, bikes, scooters and many more toys given away.
Family Dollar is collecting candy, if you wish to donate.
