Pedestrian dies in crash on I-84

MERIDIAN — A man is dead after a crash on Interstate 84 on Wednesday, according to Idaho State Police.
The incident occurred just west of Meridian, at about 7:40 p.m., according to a news release from police.
A 61-year-old woman from Marsing was driving west on I-84 in a Toyota Highlander when she hit a man trying to cross the interstate on foot, police said.
The pedestrian died on the scene. The Ada County coroner is working to identify him, officials said.
Traffic on I-84 was completely blocked for five hours so emergency responders could assist those involved and clear the scene.
