Katha Louise was a very creative and artistic young lady. Had her ears pierced at 8 years old while residing at the “Indiana For Sailors home” (An orphanage) where she and her 4 siblings were placed in for a while. In the 1950s that was a big deal, She was a trend setter. Always doodling and drawing a women’s physique with stunning fashion styles. That continued on throughout her adult life.
She attended High School in Waterloo, IA. Where she excelled at academics and Baton Twirling. She took office assistant training, but her passion was being a baker and cake decorating.
Katha had a pretty rough upbringing. Her Father was fighting in WW2 and her Mother wasn’t available to the children.
Katha never took away from her own and how she loved each one individually. A truly remarkable woman with so much wisdom, bright humor and guidance to pass on. She welcomed everyone in her home for a home-cooked meal and a good conversation. Loved all her grandchildren dearly.
Katha was very spiritual and enjoyed nature, she was giddy with appreciation for all of God’s wonders. Would wave and say hello to the sun everyday and thunderstorms brought her great comfort.
Katha leaves behind her brothers Phillip Schwartz and Jeffery Schwartz, Her 4 Children Terree Chisum (Mark) Chandalee Beck (Marcus) Brandalee Glowac and Jameelee Skidmore (Russell). Her 8 grandchildren Amber, Airon, Zachary, Skyler, Alix, Jacee, Isla, Ian and 9 great grand-children.
