Bruce Allen Brooks
January 12th, 1955 - August 4th, 2024
Bruce Allen Brooks, 69, of Ammon, passed away August 4, 2024, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Aspen Hospice.
Bruce was born January 12, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Allen Leroy Brooks and Andree Gail Heller Brooks. He grew up and attended schools in Dubois,Wyoming and graduated from Sun Valley, Idaho, High School. He also attended ISU.
He served in the National Guard and then in the United States Army.
On February 11, 2012, he married Carrie Thomas in Shelley, Idaho. Bruce and Carrie made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where Bruce worked for the Department of Ag for the State of Idaho doing weights and measures.
He was a member of the Seniour Golf League. He enjoyed side by side, riding, golf, Pinochle, and horse shoes.
Bruce is survived by his wife, Carrie Brooks of Ammon, ID; mother, Andree Gail Brooks of Kimberly, ID; son, Slade Brooks (Shelby Hallen) of Cascade, ID; son, Neeley Miller of Boise, ID; son, Nicholas (Katie McCleary) Miller of Sacramento, CA; son, Travis (Janee) Cox of St. Anthony, ID; son, Michael (Krista) Cox of Port Angles, WA; sister, Valerie Brooks of Caldwell, ID; brother, Mike (Becky) Brooks of Ketchum, ID; and 17 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Allen Leroy Brooks; father, James Mullins; sister, Julie Brooks; and his wife, Margo Jean Brooks.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
