Connie Melton

Connie Jean Shenton Melton, 64, of Shelley, Idaho, passed away Feb. 20, 2025, at Madison Memorial Hospital.

Connie was born Feb. 07, 1961, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Dean and Joanne Shenton. Connie grew up in Medicine Lodge and graduated from Clark County High School in 1978.

Connie married Arnoldo Torres, and from this union, a son, Gregory Travis Torres, was born. They later divorced. She then met the love of her life, Kenneth Melton. They married Oct. 19, 2001.

She enjoyed crafting, flowers, and especially enjoyed working with stained glass. She had an eye for antiques, and was an avid collector. Family was a centerstone in her life, and she loved holidays with her family, especially Christmas.

While she was taken from us way too soon, her love and big heart will always remain with us. Part of her big heart could always be seen through her joy and devotion to her granddaughter, Hollis, and son, Travis.

She is survived by her son, Travis Torres; granddaughter, Hollis Torres; mother, Joanne Shenton; brother, Tod (Carolyn) Shenton; and sister, Susie Shenton Shifflett.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Melton, and father, H. Dean Shenton.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Small Cemetery in Medicine Lodge, Idaho.
