Boise State football to play several Friday games — including one at home

BOISE (Idaho Statesman) — The Mountain West announced its 2025 national television package on Thursday, and there will be no shortage of Boise State football on American TVs this fall.
The Broncos will have 10 games air on either the Fox Sports family of networks (Fox, FS1, FS2) or on CBS/CBS Sports Network. Boise State’s only games not on either of those networks are the season opener at South Florida (ESPN) and October’s trip to Notre Dame (NBC).
Boise State also had three games moved to Friday night: the home opener against Eastern Washington (Sept. 5), and games on the road against Nevada (Oct. 24) and Utah State (Nov. 28).
Those three games are in addition to the season opener at South Florida taking place on a Thursday afternoon. The Utah State game will mark yet another Friday-after-Thanksgiving contest for the Broncos, something that has become a tradition.
Starting with the 2019 season, Boise State has played on that Friday every season except the COVID-altered 2020 campaign.
The Broncos kick off their season at South Florida on Aug. 28 at 3:30 p.m. Mountain on ESPN, before returning home to face Eastern Washington the next Friday night on Fox Sports 1 at 7 p.m. It will be the fifth straight season that Boise State opens on the road, and the third time in five years it opens on ESPN.
An early bye week follows, giving the Broncos some time off before they kick off Mountain West play at Air Force on Sept. 20, with the game broadcast on CBSSN at 5 p.m.
Boise State will then have two final nonconference games, at home against Appalachian State (Sept. 27, TBD kickoff) and on the road at Notre Dame (Oct. 4, 1:30 p.m.). Those two games are followed by the rest of Boise State’s conference slate, with two potential key home games being against UNLV (Oct. 18) and Fresno State (Nov. 1). Both games will receive kickoff times during the 12-day selection window prior to the scheduled date.
