Douglas Wilson

November 20, 1951-June 12, 2025

Douglas Wilson 73, of Richland, WA and Idaho Falls, ID passed away on June 12, 2025. He passed away at Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland, WA due to complications of surgery.

Doug was born in Portland, Oregon, to Stacey and Doris Wilson (both deceased). He was one of three children, his brother Stacey and sister Vicky who both preceded him in death.

Doug was a member of the United States Navy and served as a “SEABEE”. He would often tell stories of those times.

He moved to Idaho Falls where he worked at the local grocery store and met the love of his life, Jolene. They married on August 23, 1982. They had 3 wonderful children, Joy (Ray Geimer) Wilson, James (Jennifer) Wilson, and Russell Wilson (deceased).

Doug and Jolene enjoyed spending time with their family and each other. They enjoyed camping, fishing, and karate. Doug really loved his family. He has seven grandchildren; James Wilson, Dillon Wilson, Isabelle Wilson, Deakin Wilson, Madilyn Wilson, Emma Weatherston, and Reece Geimer. He was so proud of each and every one of them. Doug taught them so many things and would take them for ice cream and anywhere they wanted to go. He always stuck up for his grandkids no matter what. Doug loved watching them grow and would spend as much time as he could with them. Doug and Jolene got to spend forty-five years together and after her passing he would often say “it wasn’t enough”. She was his sweetheart. He devoted his entire love to Jolene and their children and grandchildren.

Doug owned an ice business for the better part of 20 years. He then went to work for Idahoan where he retired in 2016. Doug liked to do wood-working in his free time. He would make everything from signs to cabinets to Christmas ornaments. He liked pickled anything (especially Holly’s dilly beans), reading, and watching birds during retirement. He enjoyed going to happy hour, taking his dog, Honey, on walks around Bonaventure, where he lived, talking and hanging with his kids. Doug showed love to all that he invited into his life.

His graveside service will be at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery on August 2nd, 2025. A celebration of life will be held following the graveside service in Idaho Falls, ID.
