Bennie Dean Green, age 86, was born on November 2nd, 1938, in Driggs, Idaho to Ernest Delbert Green and Vada Buxton Green. He was the 5th child to be born to this union. Sixteen years later, his brother Ken was born, making a total of 6 children.

He was a happy child who was raised on the family farm located in Alta, Wyoming and at the family’s sawmill up Teton Canyon during the summers. He attended school at Alta Elementary and Teton High School. He joined the Air Force in 1956 and became the crew chief of two F-100’s, spending 3 of his 4 military years in Germany.

After he returned from his military service, he met his dearest, Trudy Vollman. They courted and were married in the Idaho Falls Temple on July 18th, 1962. They had 5 children and were happy in their home in Darby. Fun times were often had camping and boating together with his wife and children at Palisades Lake. He owned and operated Ben Green Excavation company for over 40 years before his retirement. He worked hard for his family and his great love for them is forever embedded in their hearts.

For hobbies, he loved to snowmobile and ride in his Razor, but most of all, he loved to fly his plane and work on engines. He spent many hours in the sky, traveling and giving family and friends rides around the Tetons. For years he towed the glider for the scenic flights at the Driggs Airport. His children and grandchildren will always remember the precious times of getting a ride from him in one of his old cars.

He was an honest, hard-working man with a great love and compassion for everyone, and he spent countless hours doing service for others. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He dearly loved his wife, children and grandchildren, and the time he got to spend doing activities with them.

He was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia in July of 2022 and survived until July 22nd of 2025. We have been blessed to have had the opportunity to spend these last 3 years loving and enjoying him.

He is survived by his daughters Lori (Steve) Harper, Audrey (Leon, deceased) Holmes, sons Scot (Dani) Green, Matthew (Alecia) Green, Todd (Amanda) Green, and brother Kenyon Green, 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He will be missed, but we are grateful to have the knowledge that we are a forever family.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Driggs LDS Stake Center. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., and Saturday from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m., both times at the stake center. Interment will be in the Alta-Pratt Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion and US Air Force Honor Guard.
